Evolution is a four-piece hard hitting rock band from Industrial Cape Breton, comprised of Dan McCarthy (lead vocal/guitar), Lester Huffman (drums/vocals), Lorne Currie (bass/vocals) and Dick Lyle (guitar/vocals).

Evolution provide the best of todays current rock hits with a mixed of classic rock, that most bands don't cover. Selecting material they find enjoyable to play, the whole time thinking of crowd reaction.

Evolution has been exciting crowds for over five years at their shows throughout Cape Breton as well as opening for headliners as April Wine, Dr. Hook and Lou Graham.

Each member of Evolution has their own diverse musical tastes and is very accomplished in their craft making a show very exciting.

On the release of their first album Forgive the first single "What If?" found its way to the top of local radio stations and air play on many stations across Canada.
